With Gossow in tow, the band went on to release five albums and practically revolutionized extreme metal with her powerful pipes front and center. However, the band never really took hold in the States or Europe until they recruited powerhouse vocalist Angela Gossow in 2000. Formed in 1995 by guitarist Michael Amott with original vocalist Johan Liiva, Arch Enemy went on to produce three albums.
