![]() The second go-round involved Lantern's Justice Society friends and ended when Grundy was defeated and placed on the moon. The pair battled multiple times, the first of which ended when Grundy was thrown under a train. Grundy quickly proved to be a formidable foe for Scott, considering that he was not able to be killed, and that his powers had little effect on him being that his body was largely made up of wood. Very strong, cruel and practically mindless, Grundy fell into a life of crime and soon attracted the attention of Alan Scott, the Green Lantern. One of the hobo's brought up the old children's rhyme involving Solomon Grundy, and the name stuck. The only thing that came to mind was that he was born on a Monday. He then stumbled into a hobo camp and was asked about his name, which he could not recall. He quickly encountered two escaped criminals, who he murdered for their clothes. According to the Earth-Two story line, Gold's reanimated corpse meandered out of the swamps in 1944, with no memory of his previous life. Over the course of about 50 years, and via a process that is still unknown, Gold's body "interacted" with the dead plant life and detritus. The pair dumped gold's body in the swamp, certain that no one would find the body. The two scheduled to meet at Slaughter Swamp to negotiate the deal, but Gold was bashed over the head with a shovel by Rykel's pimp. In exchange for her silence, Gold was forced to pay Rykel money. ![]() In 1895 (or 1894, depending on the story line), Gold "hooked up," as it were, with a prostitute from the Gotham City area named Rachel Rykel, who claimed she was pregnant. ![]() Most people see him as a Batman rogue, but Grundy could function as a Baddie in a number of DC films, but more on that later.Ĭyrus Gold was born sometime in the mid 19th Century. Notably, Cheetah is the only member of the Society to not be a Batman or Flash villain.Back yet again with another installment in the Baddies That Need Movie Love series.Grodd is a prominent member of The Society in multiple mediums and iterations.Four of the Society's members (Scarecrow, Captain Cold, Cheetah, and Gorilla Grodd) and Brainiac were members of the original Legion of Doom on the classic Super Friends (1973-1986) cartoon.The Society is the Injustice continuity's version of the Secret Society of Super Villains from DC Comics.Gorilla Grodd (Deceased leader and founder).However, at the end of the story, all members, save for Grodd, leave the organization after realizing that Brainiac had plans to destroy Earth entirely instead of conquering it. To this end, he recruited those with similar desires for power, those who desired revenge on the Regime itself, and evenly forcibly recruited some to his cause. Gorilla Grodd founded the Society sometime after the dissolution of High Councillor Superman's One Earth Regime in an attempt to fill the power vacuum left in the wake of the High Councillor's defeat.
